About this deal

Configure and use the FX Chronograph as a stand alone or connect it to your phone / tablet for the ultimate in control and versitility. Ever wanted to know the speed of your pellet, BB, Arrow or Paintballs, then this app will allow you to create profiles and store data from all your testing and tuning. For those of you that have access to a 3D printer we now offer you to use some of our designs for 3D Printing. Airgunners want to know the velocity and power coming out of their rifle. This is especially important with FX Airguns that allow the ability to tune, change calibres, and change barrel liners. A chronograph is a key tool needed to maximize the accuracy of your rifle. However, on the 9th shot the nice lady said nothing. And the display on my phone didn’t change. Oh — I’ve seen this before. The chronograph didn’t record that shot! Sure enough when the 10th pellet went out the spout the chrono thought it was shot number nine and recorded it that way.

If you live in a state or city where air guns are treated as firearms you may be able to take advantage of our FFL special program. Capable of recording velocities from 400-4000FPS it has applications for both Airguns and full bore rifles alike. Stop guessing the performance of your setup and tune your gun / reloads to finest of degrees. In the chronograph world, you really only have two options: The expensive complicated units that gives you most of what you need, but cost far too much, or the cheaper models that are outdated, not very portable, are light sensitive/dependent, and often break easily. In the chronograph world, you really only have two options: The expensive complicated units that give you most of what you need, but cost far too much, or the cheaper models that are outdated, not very portable, are light-sensitive/dependent, and often break easily. The app records speed, custom profiles, calibres and gives multiple readouts depending on what you require. Store and save your data, or export it to use in other programs. The App can call out the numbers as you shoot, so no need to take your eye off your target. And why was I taking extra care to align the rifle barrel with the skyscreens on my Shooting Chrony that’s set up on my table? It wasn’t turned on and they weren’t even working! This radar chronograph was doing everything. Woopie! Vocal shout outs for each shot can enable smooth target grouping at the range, just listen to the result and don’t take your eye off the target.

The centre fire capable chronogaph not only records and logs your strings, but also gives Ballistic Calculations and data to help you improve your loads / tune to gain a greater understanding of how your setup will perform in a real world environment. FX is always looking for ways to revolutionize and improve their customers experience, and they decided to find a way to offer the best of both worlds, a chronograph of high quality that is surprisingly affordable.

The chronograph itself is a wireless radar-based chronograph. It communicates via Bluetooth to either your smart phone or the FX Chrono-graph Display (sold separately). The app (available for both iOS and Android) does more than just show the feet per second of the projectile. It allows users to store multiple rifle profiles, shows shot strings, standard deviations, extreme spreads and much more. This chronograph needs three AAA batteries. They fit inside a battery compartment that’s held shut by a single screw. Replacing that screw was the hardest thing I did during the setup. While FX is an airgun manufacturer and states it on the chronograph, you know someone is going to try it on a firearm. Do they specifically say on the box not to put it on a firearm? Are these special heat resistant rubber bands that can be used on a hot firearm barrel? Just curious? Log in to Reply Setup is easy and the unit features a portable design with a rechargeable battery that will last for severall hours

Simply strap the unit to the end of the barrel, open the app and start recording the speed of your shots. There is also a slot on the bottom side that allows you to mount the chrono on an edge, for example a fence. The chronograph market has traditionally been dominated by optical models (Caldwell, CED, Chrony, Combro, ProChrono) that use the shadow cast by a projectile shot over a pair of light sensors to measure its velocity. As anyone who has used one knows, function depends entirely on having the right kind of ambient light and shooting over the chrono can all too easily lead to it being damaged or destroyed. This was the last shot in the string. The chronograph failed to record the 9th shot, so this became the 9th shot. Pardon the flash in the lower right corner of the phone screen, but I was too lazy to get out the tripod. And I forgot I could take screen shots on my phone. See how difficult it is to grow old? Ain’t no graceful about it. The initial version of the app left other more important things to be desired. The list included: a readout that shows the Max, Min and Average velocities as well as the extreme spread (ES) and standard deviation (SD) of a string; the ability to switch between units of measurement and between muzzle velocityMV) and muzzle energy (ME) without editing the gun profile. Plus, the export of complete profile and session data to the clipboard; and not having the app drop the Bluetooth connection each time you switch profiles, or open another window on your phone, a small thing, but properly annoying! After the last shot I looked at the icons at the bottom of the screen. What would I like to see? I’d like to see the first string, because at this point, that’s what I’m interested in. So I touched the Shot String icon with my finger and the string came up. Simply place the chronograph below the muzzle, Open the FX radar app on your phone, and start firing away as the phone lists (or even calls out) your shot-string. Note: We will not be able give any guarantees of function or liability, neither will we be able to give any support to 3D printing. The FX Chronograph Display connects via Bluetooth to your FX Chronograph while also allowing your chronograph to still connect to the FX Radar Smartphone App (to allow for its features). Besides showing the feet per second for each shot taken, the display can also be utilized to show magazine shot count, show the battery charge left in your chronograph, as well as other forthcoming display options.

The True Ballistic Radar Chronograph measures actual speeds at four different velocities readings from 0 – 300 yrds to determine actual ballistic coefficient using G1/G7 drag models. This provides actual data in your conditions, info that provides the difference between a hit and a miss. What’s it worth to you to hit your target? Use the on board display or connect to the FX Radar app to get more out of the ballistic data. Please note that your goods may be sent to you in instalments as availability of products can vary. For example certain products have specific delivery requirements which are explained below. FYI, The FX Radar Chrony was initially developed for use on paintball guns and later upgraded to work with airguns. It was never intended for firearms. Now, some of you don’t own a chronograph yet and you want to know whether this one can be used in all situations. I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s one of the things I plan on looking into. Summary The chronograph is mounted to the barrel of the Air Arms S510XS. As you see, it took two wraps for each rubber band.
